My 20 year old wal-mart ADL got sold for about what I paid to someone who wanted it for a donor this year. Glad someone wanted it. Not a good ROI for 2005-2024.
It’s a gorgeous rifle and it probably works well. From a strictly shooting standpoint there are ugly rifles that would be more enjoyable to put a bunch of ammo down range.
I am not bothered that you choose to prioritize appearance over practicality in your choice of rifle. That doesn’t seem to...
Sure can. They don’t make many pretty rifles with optimized ergos though. So when one prioritizes the tool aspect over the art aspect the end result isn’t often “beautiful”. Particularly in the eyes of people who get worked up over such things.
I've always been a fan of the seekins ergos. If looking at stockys, i think a guy would be hard pressed to find a better ergos than the rokstok but I don't think there are even any of the m700 inlets out in the wild yet so that might be a wait and see option. I really like the one i have on a...
I like the seekins stock shape better than the micky GW. Doesn't have as much drop at heel, has a flat comb vs positive sloping, has a higher comb, and has a better (closer to trigger) grip IMO.
I'd think there should be some out there on the market because dudes buy stuff for dumb reasons...
Seems they did well for a bit or maybe were just the benefactor of new kid on the block hype, but I've talked with enough folks that had quality issues with them lately that they don't interest me. Accuracy issues, ejection issues. Stocks are kind of meh. 700 platform doesn't really excite me...
Those 165 BTs are a good place to start for 308s. They are actually pretty stout in construction but still should make nice wound channels. Unless a guy wanted more BC for longer shots, they are a pretty dang attractive hunting pill imo.
Yes, I figured not resting it on the barrel was known but good clarification.
The other assumption with my comment was that it wasn’t in a platform that is sensitive to where on the stock (fore/aft) the rifle is support from below. I don’t use rifles where this isn’t the case so I have a bit of...
Maybe they are what leupold feels is most robust of their offerings for a given base interface but they are by no means the only rings that can handle 338 WM recoil. I doubt they are any better than their mark 4 rings but those are for a picatinny interface.
Yep. Travis has been steadfast in his support.
Does good work, fast, with good communication. Really struggled to not send him more work but his steady support for Erik was a deal breaker.
I stopped using my prior preferred gunsmith (TS Custom) due to his affiliations with Muley Freak.. Not selling my mathews but wouldn't buy another now that they are on board too. Same for nightforce.
