    A400 choke

My go-to field shotgun is an A400. I shoot a Kicks ported IC 0.010” constriction choke for doves. It kills everything as far as a #8 lead pellet can be expected to kill, 0-45 yards or so. If I miss it’s my fault not the gun or choke. But man, I do love the “wrong choke” excuse!

Anybody want to hear this story?

To the people that voted no: why exactly are you on HT? I can only assume to argue about politics or complain about the rising cost of reloading components / ammo.

So you’re mad at Midway because you missed a sale and now they’re priced more in line with other retailers?

    Richland Arms 20 ga

Find a second one to buy and use for parts as needed. Or find someone to repair the broken buttstock. You'll pay someone more than its worth to custom make a new buttstock.

    New Zealand Trophy Export Info

I always travel with a huge duffle that exceeds the L+W+H maximum and have never had to pay for oversized luggage. Is there an option to just pay more for oversized luggage? Or will they not let it on the plane? I’d bring back everything that you can as luggage. If there are any issues then you...

    New Zealand Trophy Export Info

You’ve got it. Find someone to boil them, package them for luggage, and pre-clear them with US Fish & Wildlife. @SCliving Outdoors do you have any additional details to share? Last time I brought anything back from NZ was 2019 so not sure if anything changed in the past 4 years.

Possible Change to Montana Unlimited Sheep

Unfortunately this is not an excuse, this is reality. The chance of drawing a tag keeps people invested in the species, leading to more funding for conservation.

Possible Change to Montana Unlimited Sheep

Noooooooooooo Once in a lifetime disincentivizes hunters from being a lifelong advocate for that species. It would have a negative impact on species-specific conservation efforts.

Possible Change to Montana Unlimited Sheep

One of the excuses given for the ram that was confiscated in 502 for being sub legal was because it was difficult to judge when he shot...from 800 yards.

Possible Change to Montana Unlimited Sheep

I walked away from a small but legal ram when the quota was filled in my unit this year. I guess my personal ethics are a bit different from the "call all my buddies so we can kill every ram in the drainage" folks. The unlimiteds sure seems to bring out the worst in some people, i.e. greed (see...

Possible Change to Montana Unlimited Sheep

Agree you shouldn't be able to hunt AND gain a point. Montana allows you to gain points while you're on your 7 year wait after harvesting a ram because you're eligible to draw a ewe bighorn license, which uses the same points. So let's close that loophole while we're at it. The 48 hour closure...

Wife's Muskox and Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep Mount

Those mounts are excellent. I’ve reached the same conclusion on taxidermy. Spend the money for a true artist that is honest and reliable, or just mount the skull myself. Growing up one of my Dad’s best friends was a world champion taxidermist and started his own taxidermy supply company...

    Garmin Xero C1 Pro Chronograph

Among other reasons, I may switch just for the increased velocity ceiling. 3900fps max for the Labradar is useless for 22-250 and 220 Swift. Garmin goes up to 5000fps.
