Numbers are still depressed for sure. Fawns, really depended. We would run into a herd of 6-8 does, maybe 2-3 fawns. Very next herd with 6-8 does, maybe 7-8 fawns.
IMO and from what I'm seeing, there is something going on with pronghorn fawns statewide. It's also interesting talking to a...
I don't know why that's a surprise. The population took a major dump in 22. What few lived, had a handful of fawns in the spring of 23. Those few fawns that survived will be having fawns in the spring of 25. The only recruitment for the past 2 years is from the survivors of the 22 winter. Simple...
Short season, but productive.
A friend drew a great tag and we spent a few days prior to the season looking over some awesome country and wildlife.
Saw a lot of these guys:
Also saw some pretty fair pronghorn bucks, 3-4 that we figured were worthy of the tag my friend had.
The first choice...
If $1100 month expenses are cutting into your hunting funds, sounds like you can't afford to hunt and should get back to work.
I made enough TODAY in the S&P to cover a few years worth of your alleged $1100/month in additional expenses.
Oh, the price of bacon.
Anybody interested in some DJT stock? It's only down to $14 from $79, and took a giant dump of almost 6% today, on a record setting day in the market. That stock is on its way to zero.
My investments had a great day today while I was looking at pronghorn.
I agree with you there.
Its just all a coincidence that raising application fees to $75 for NR and $20 for R, would about equal the amount needed to cover the expense of grass compensation.
With a federal pension and SS both, why can't you ride out a year or two dip?
Have max carryover AL when you retire for lump sum to supplement pension and SS. Withdraw some from TSP if it's on the upswing to skim and further supplement, and let the rest ride the S&P.
Its one thing if all you...
No. It wasn't even a month after elk shoulder seasons were implemented that landowners started charging for cow elk hunts (near Drummond). We were all assured the dept. would put their foot down if that were to happen...I think what they meant was put their boot in the ass of hunters.
And the entire FS budget isn't even a rounding error in all that.
Who knows, maybe I'll get lucky and get bought out, I qualify. Probably not though, research is largely insulated from this.
It's a direct political post regarding public lands, the FWP lack of anything resembling leadership, threat to Montana's wildlife, and anything to do with land acquisitions or CE's.
There is one, and one party only that is using their political pull to dismantle it all...and they need to be...
