    Cougar or Coyote?

Here’s the two ways to determine a feline and a canine. Canine -rounded lobe on back pad -two outside toes line up with the back pad Feline -3 lobes on the back pad -outside toes don’t line up with back pad

    Tent-Share or not Share?

I guess that depends on who you are hunting with. Sometimes a little guy on guy spooning is nice after a long day hunting.

    Tent-Share or not Share?

I like my sleep, and I like my space. One 2 man tent for me. If anyone else wants to sleep in a tent, they can bring their own. 2 man might be heavier than a one man, but so is the pillow I take from my bed. Even on 5 plus miles to where I’m going to hunt, a good nights rest is worth the...

    Rattlesnakes while hunting

If I see a rattle snake and don’t kill it, my 5 year old gets upset. No because he’s afraid of them, but because he likes to eat them. They are pretty tasty grilled!

    Nevada Unit 203

Mason Valley and Walker River WMA is where most the public land hunting is done. Make sure to look up the regs on when you can hunt. I’m pretty sure they only allow hunting on certain days but I could be wrong. It’s been awhile since I’ve been on that side of the state. I used to duck hunt...

    22-250 for Mule Deer???

I’m it’s more about shot placement than caliber. Better to be accurate with a 22-250 than using a 7mm RUM that you’re afraid to shoot.

Particular music on a hunting trip?

Carpenters Love Songs is the top of my hunting playlist. My dad has it playing on the way home from our first deer hunt (he started big game hunting with me when I was 12). It’s been 22 years and I still listen to it.

    Truck Cell Booster

This last year we change our work cell service from Verizon to AT&T. If you’ve ever been through Nevada, if you don’t have Verizon, you don’t have service in most of the state. Thinking about installing a booster in my truck. Looking for suggestions on what to get.

    Load for Pronghorn

I like that thinking. I reloaded some 160gr accubonds for a cow elk hunting and ended up grabbing my 140gr ballistic tips. One bullet at 250 yards out her down quick.

    Load for Pronghorn

My I my other rifles are 17hmr, 22 mag, and .204. Has to be a center fire rifle .22 or bigger so even though I am deadly with my 204, can’t use it for lopers

    Load for Pronghorn

I know this question opens a can of worms, but what loads do you prefer for pronghorn. I’ll be using my only legal rifle, a Howa 7mm-08 shooting 140gr Nosler ballistic tips loaded with 45 grains of IMR 4350. I’ve killed a few antelope and a couple deer with that so I’ll most likely be using it...

Hard to Get NW CO Tag - What to Look for in a Pronghorn?

The same people who say that are the same ones who say antelope is the worst game meat. The main thing with antelope is to bring lots of latex gloves. I for one am not as cautious as I should be with protecting myself when dealing with animals, but gloves for antelope isn't just to protect you...

Hard to Get NW CO Tag - What to Look for in a Pronghorn?

Just remember mass trumps length. If you have two bucks, one is 12” and one is 17” and the 12” buck has an average of 1” per mass measurement than the 16” buck (This will also affect the prong measurement), the 12” buck will score higher. (4 mass measurements equals 4” per side plus 1” of added...

    Cousin Drew My Dream Tag

I trap and shed hunt this unit every year. It’s the only tag me and him apply for. We both know it pretty good. It will be nice to be able to actually get one of these bucks on the ground!
