Have fun and good luck. Its conceivable that you tag out sooner than expected. If you have some extra time just enjoy what WY is. I think a lot of people pull stakes as soon as they are "finished". I know I have done this, before. After the long drive out there it'd be a shame to just rush...
Sure you can voice as a non-resident. But they don't really care about the voice of their own constituency on this matter so I don't think they give 2 cents about your voice.
In my experience weekday pressure drops off materially, but i hunt private.
Also, you mentioned this is a first pronghorn hunt for you. So when you get your goat, and I hope you do, have a plan in place to get the animal cooled down and onto ice ASAP. Pronghorn doesn't hold up in the heat as...
This. One of those roads was mistakenly identified in one of Randy's videos as providing access to public. It doesn't. The next year there were a ton of people driving around on opening morning trying to access it and some driving over fences to do so.
Very cool animal. I'd let him walk so somebody else could enjoy him including myself. I'd always have hopes of bumping into him again. I'm primarily a meat hunter anyhow so, he'd be more enjoyable to me on the hoof. Thanks for sharing.
I've never noticed scent to be much of an issue. If you have bovine in the area I would worry more about them and either find a way of avoiding them or have them avoid you and your locality.
I have been hunting Utah for some time now and watch Utah posts carefully. I've also done plenty of my own research (every unit). I leave it to the locals.
The units where you can take any bull are units where there are either few elk and the DNR wants even fewer or there is so much private...
Not to be a wise guy, but my cramps laugh at water and electrolytes and apparently they communicate with my prostate. The end result is both legs cramping up severely in the middle of the night when I have to pee so bad, but I can't bend my legs enough to get out of my sleeping bag and forget...
Thanks guys lots of good ideas. Many have been tried some not. I will keep doing what I'm doing (Water and electrolytes) and add some of the other things to the menu. Only problem I see for me is the beef base. The salt aggravates the BP.
Thanks guys.
Pickle juice and mustard banana split...
Does anyone get hellacious cramps when hunting?
Any cures or preventions other than staying hydrated and keeping up electrolytes?
Sorry if this is a re-post. Can't find the original.
I put an elk shoulder (about 3.75 lbs. of bone in meat) on my Traeger last week and it turned out better than i could have dreamed. I screwed up a couple other pieces of domestic meat learning things before I trusted myself with an elk roast (which was a SUPER simple preparation) but it sure...
Don't worry about it. Just go and hunt There is no enforcement. Most guys who might be in a position to enforce would sympathize with you/us. Last of all if your still worried then it might be convenient to recall how you built the ammo yourself but the press was stolen the next day. Damn...
