There are some hunting opportunities, but I recommend you learn to like salt water fishing or if you need the stalking aspect learn to spear fish. San Diego is incredible for that. Take advantage of what San Diego has to offer rather than mourn what it doesn't.
I use the jumbo size ziplocks and keep the zipped end above the ice/dry ice line.

I think you'll be fine. In 2016 we whacked 4 pronghorn near the unit you are hunting. Several of the goats were processed but not frozen and one or two were quartered and unfrozen. On our way back home to Southern California we stopped for three days of elk hunting in Utah where we stored the...
I feel the same way about the mummies but if you want to stay warm in cold temps its just something we have to deal with unless you want to pack a heavy bag. I'm a similar size to you and have found comfort in the light weight compact 15 degree Kuiu bag. Ofcourse their maybe something more...
Its not the kill that I dislike. That doesn't bother me in the least so long as it is sustainable blah blah blah... But I hate the shit out of seeing anything suffer. So while I don't kill any less, I do all I can to make clean shots and administer a coup de grace asap.

Having your meat processed by a reputable processor has its place. Especially if you wish to share some with friends or acquaintances who are new to the idea of eating wild game. Professionally cut and packaged meat goes a long way breaking down apprehensions. That said my butcher in the...
I'm afraid there isn't much I can do as a non-resident, but I wish you good luck. I have driven through Meeker and it is one of the idyllic places I've seen while driving cross country and I often tell my wife that buying that ranch in Meeker would be my dream. Good luck; access to the are is...
Got a Traeger and my buddy has one too. No problems with either but it doesn't do anything special that either my briquette or propane BBQ's can't do. I think that once people spend that much money and realize that it wasn't well spent they convince themselves its awesome so they feel better...
My dogs seem particularly fond of all red meat game as well (particularly elk and duck). I often toss them raw trimmings when trimming meat for the freezer. The stuff that makes it to the plate is usually seasoned with pepper etc. so I don't give them anything from the plate but will sometimes...
I agree 100%. Nick has the right attitude. Besides its all about the experience.
Cheeser, Drop me a PM and I might be able to help you out some.
