I ran around with a BB gun from as early as I can remember. Poor squirrels...
shot a .22 for the first time when I was 9. I was probably 11-12 when I first was allowed to go out and shoot the .22 by myself when we were out at hunting camp. My best friend and loved chasing the red squirrels with...
I like to hang mine over head. Just high enough to require a lot of effort or a climbing stick to steal.
I also find that the bears don’t mess with them as often when they’re higher up.
Definitely seeing an impact...
Just in time for deck season too. If it gets much worse it’s going to be very tough for us builders.
I may even purchase material now for a deck that is booked for September
The pandemic pushed us to move out of NYC to the Catskills. Starting my own business and it is going well, so far.
Sold our cabin and are in the process of buying a 170 year old farmhouse in PA with beautiful views and only 8 miles from a 10,000 acre state land parcel.
Oh yeah, and we got a...
Im sure you can find a decent used one. I’d bet guys are selling tools left and right with the current economic climate... However, I view it as a tool I’ll have forever, so I invested in a new one up front. For $400 I know I have something that’ll last.
Went from a ‘13 Silverado to a ‘19 Tacoma. There are definitely times I miss the full size power and bed space, but the Tacoma is far more capable off-road. They’re tough and maneuverable and look best when muddy and scratched up.
Bulleit Bourbon and apple cider for me..I like to throw in a lemon wedge and call it a day.
Served hot or cold depending on if it’s 70 out or snowing, which seems to be the daily rotation.
this is the saw I picked up.Perfect for most of what I do and is a good truck saw.
My next saw will probably be one of the bigger pro models to round out the arsenal.
I think 12-15k seems fair if the guy doesn’t skimp on hardware, etc.
structural screws, flashing tape, hidden fastening systems, and all those goodies add up quickly.
I’ve never targeted bear before, but this year I plan on starting. I’m in the big woods in NY and have located a lot of bears on public ground around swamps and hardwood mountain tops. We can’t bait here, so I’ll be trying a treestand on swamp edges and around feed such as acorns. Power lines...
I’d probably give a napkin estimate in the ballpark of $40sq/ft for composite or pvc material with all new ledger, footings, stair and railings. This can go vary quite a bit depending on railing design and the stair layout.
I’m in NY, so our markets may not be similar.
Been considering building a plywood one with drawers for my tacoma. As for the durability, I’d probably spray the top with bed liner spray cans and call it good. When it wears out pull some screws and replace.
Not sure I can give up the vertical space, though. It’s already tight putting all...
Next shotgun I pickup will be a 20ga. With the ammo out there It’s very versatile. However, a vintage sweet 16 has to be the ultimate. I have an old side by side Parker in 16ga that is a dream to shoot.
