We love these animals, but human life has the priority. If we can’t be optimistic about avoiding/countering attacks, then some bears need to die, preferably via hunting.
We all have a responsibility to return home to our families…some reduce risk, some up-armor, some don’t care.
Bears are the reason I hate how little light I get from my headlamp during ~2am nature calls…rifle loaded, pitch black, attempting to sweep my head around 360 degrees…as if it helps
must have minimum 5/8 inch diameter muzzle threads above .243 caliber if using suppressor. This may dictate carbon fiber barrel, since weight is a issue for hunting.
Error toward larger caliber, more energy, for goal of one shot kills. High BC bullets reduce erosion & wind issues. Don’t go less...
I hate revealing this, perhaps it’s useful - there is only one cartridge (in said family), of all calibers that never increased in price and is always available, these last 2 years (since Covid), when (my preferred) 300 & 338 win mag ELDX rounds increased from $1.65 to $5 before disappearing...
