Find out the stock number for the chain size for your tires. Then keep hitting the Saint Vincent De Paul thrift store or others. You will find lots of chains cheap over time. V-bar chains are built on a lighter chain than good off highway chains. If you plan on putting much power to the ground off road then buy good off highway chains. Oregon West High Cascades Hunt for Blacktails
there are some deer in that high country, but it is a weather issue. early snow pushes the muledeer out fast. they can be across hwy 97 in hours or just out of the high cascade area. BUT if you get lucky that east slope has big bucks. Very hard hunting at the best of times but very rewarding... -

i know where i'm hunting. I'm looking for another "Avid" muledeer hunter with the tag to share the hunt. It is 50miles from pavement plus. A solo hunt is fine, but this is remote country and a big hunt like this is always better shared. -

why would you not hunt the east slope of the cascades for a big muledeer? i have chased them around before on the tag. spent several days after one monster buck. look at your map around miller lake, cresent lake. I might do this hunt next year -

Yes i did. right now i have 15 days for the hunt. oct 1st thru 15th. i am going solo unless i find another tag holder, that is into hard hunting in extreme 5000' desert of S/E oregon it is the 168B tag. i'll have my wall tent camp setup. about 50 miles from the nearest pavement. -
