I like a 3X9 at the minimum. 4.5X14 with AO is even better. This is for the squirrel hunting I do. There's times I can find them with my 12X bino when others can't with 10X.
I'm also still hunting with a bolt gun that's capable of hitting anything I can see within 60yards. This is a 5 shot...
I have had a peax and a Fenix for a couple of years now.
No comparison the Fenix is the better light to me.
Bracket on the peax is lucky to last a year. Have yet to have a problem with the Fenix. Mine is the Fenix HM71R, it's very bright but doesn't have a red light option.
Are you sure it's stuck because of corrosion? I've had some brass frames that stretched or shifted which messed up the action timing.
The worst was a 1858 Remington that a guy was loading way to heavy.
I would recommend a CZ 457 scout, it should last a lifetime. It comes with a single shot magazine and any 457 magazine can be used later. When the stock is outgrown a full size CZ or Boyds stock can be installed. These aren't a cheap option but a quality long term purchase. I have a keystone...
The Traditions that I have shot were decent and no big complaints on them. My Accura with BH209 weighed by scale not volume rivals a lot of centerfire rifles. I'm using harvester sabot with Hornady 44 mag 225gr ftx and won't hesitate to take a 200yd shot.
I have a Vortex Ranger 1800 and if the Diamondback is anything like it which I assume it is. It's a piece of garbage. Mine won't reliably range 200 yards. If conditions are perfect ( not dark or not too bright, no moisture in air) mine might range 500 yards if it's on a solid tripod.
Both of my daughters have taken quite a few deer with 50grs of powder and a 44 mag 225gr ftx in a harvester sabot. It's deadly at 50yds and ok to 75 probably farther even. For us there's very little recoil nothing compared to a shotgun. My daughters are on the small side and started using this...
I have a wood stocked patriot in 308. A problem with them is the plastic bedding and the front action screw is blind threaded. Mine the screw bottomed out without tightening the action in the stock. The bolt is really loose in the action and the trigger sucks. Quite often it won't pick up a...
