    Is it chilly in here?

To each his/her own. For me and mine, I pray to only visit places that can get that cold. And not be there during those times. 😎

Are spotting scopes necessary for elk rifle seasons in open terrain?

Buy the spotter and a good pair of binos. Use them both and find what works for you. Sell the spotter if it doesn't and keep trucking.

    Secnar 185 BTHP 308 loads

I’ve no loads to offer as run 178s with a different powder. I’d start with the 4064 of the powders you listed. Check snipers hide website for some info too.

    Wilderness Area montage

Thanks for sharing these pics. They’re awesome! Photos never capture the real deal so these sights must have been crazy cool.

What is a step up from a Browning Xbolt?

IMO Christensen arms, sako, fierce and maybe kimber are the immediate next tier. Montana rifle company might also qualify. I’m not sure but think that Winchester, Kimber and Montana Rifle co offer three position crf rifles in the 7-08. Sako 85 is my next 7-08. They have a version of crf and a...

    What's your favorite duck?

Yes! I have had most of the puddle ducks mounted and always thought a full plum ruddy would be cool too. Never shot one though as let most divers fly bye unharmed.

    What's your favorite duck?

We called the drake spoonies "Wister mallards" in so ca. Pretty birds late season. I never really liked to eat them though and would let them fly in my last years out west.

    Whats your most accurate rifle?

Howa 1500 308 win bull barrel version I turned into a target rifle. Shoots handloads 5 shot groups just above 1/2”. Love this gun. Shoots anything down the pipe well.

Maybe I'm the one who's nuts... thoughts on the great ammo & reloading run of '21

I’ve got a box or two I can send you. Pm me. My kids grew out of it and I won’t be shooting it before sanity returns

    .243 ammo preference

I mostly reload for our 243 but found good success with the federal fusions and classic corelokts. Id bet the Hornady whitetails will also shoot well as they have for me in other cartridges.

Maybe I'm the one who's nuts... thoughts on the great ammo & reloading run of '21

My wife has pointed out my natural contrarian nature on more than one occasion. Maybe that trait is the driver here but i'm watching this ammo and reloading component run develop and can't help but think my fellow shooters, hunters and 2a supporters have gone nuts. I browse gun broker for fun...

    6.8 Western

I think it's cool. Just another option for we consumers and will likely have some peripheral benefits like increased choices for 277 slugs and may encourage manufacturers to speed up the twist on the original 270 and 270 ws. That alone would benefit the users of those cartridges and make it...

OK, you won the lottery, first rifle?

I've been eyeballing a Sako for a while now. However, with this kind of dough, I'd have to start educating myself on custom options with great wood.
