    In my younger days I wanted a 338. My 3 for many years have been: 300 WM, 270, 7mm-08. My 300 was my favorite for many years. Power! The 7mm-08 is my fav now, lighter is nice the older I get.

    Sleeping wet in a sleeping bag.

    You ain't lived until you've slept in heavy rain, a wet sleeping bag with wet clothes and a wet tent. Misery increases as temperature decreases. Wind can add too. I'm an old timber cruiser. Anybody else here measure some plots?

    Lived half my life in Idaho - half in NorCal. Been through Nevada a million times, but never hunted it. Put in a few times for deer and sheep in the '90's.

    Fires don't kill very many big game animals. I've hunted recent burns for decades. The hunting is usually excellent. Summer rains will create a nice green up.

    If I were a non resident, I'd buy a deer or elk tag on Dec 1, then put in for moose every year. Moose had about 1000 non residents apply for 54 tags in 2021. Not impossible odds. Bear, wolf or lion tags are options too.

    Went for a goat tag this year. Never have had one in my pocket, at 64 thought I'd better get one earlier rather than later. Moose will be when I can't hunt sheep or goats anymore. Also much easier to draw a tag. Should be able to organize a crew for a moose pack out.

    Outstanding! In 2021 about 1800 non-residents got 10 tags, so a little better than 1:2000. Tomorrow is the last day to apply.
