Little buck today
I agree with wyodeerhunter, 54,57 as been an area that many a record goat has been taken from. Look in the record books for a dude named bergquist. He's got 3 I think. very nice bucks indeed.- OAKSTER

Kill Prognostications!!!
Hopefully a decent elk,( 5x5 ) or bigger. I am hunting deer, but have to see a real good one before i pull the trigger. consequently I haven't shot one in a few years. Already smacked a limit of grouse. maybe a pheasant or two. The important thing is: No matter what the heck I shoot... -

Lucky guy!!!
I had some of that luck last year, killed a bull about 150 yds from camp. Had it hung up by 7:45 am opening day. Tell ya what though, it kinda took the fun out of it. -

I was up on shadow mtn over the weekend. Not much activity. I did manage a couple of grouse. There was enough snow to see that some were moving thru, but again, the only elk we saw were on the flagstaff road on the way into north fork of spread creek. I agree with you though, the snows should... -

My First Elk Hunt
Just keep on going, you will gain the experience and patience that it will take to bag one of those magnificent creatures. Time, experience and learning your elk hunting area. They will all pay-off in the end. :D -

Need to find new area
You could hunt in southern Wyoming, just north of where you are hunting now. You can pick your poison. If you want to hunt heavy timber it's available. If you like a little more open country you have that too. In the past couple of years there has been a very high population of elk. Wyoming... -
