If that 300 mag makes you flinch trade it in on a smaller caliber. In doing that you will be able to afford a nicer rifle than just buying another one. Stepping down to a 7mm rem mag, lots less recoil. Still plenty for elk.
My buddy bought a t3x with the supposed new pad, it sucked!! I looked at some rifles in store and about 1/2 were hard like my buddies but that was a year ago
And depending on where you are at and what dates you go.... 2 years ago in September I was hunting in 18" of snow with my bow. You need to watch the weather for where you want to go and take clothes accordingly, and them so. Always bring a good waterproof outer layer and something with insulation.
If I had a shotgun to take instead of a rifle I'd take the shotgun with slugs and or mixed with buckshot everytime. But I'd make sure I had good slugs that would handle a bear.
All bags are not created equal. I bought a cheaper green colored bag, can't remember the name but with my bow and arrows the field point arrows blew right thru it. Went back to the yellow jacket bag, no problems stopping arrows.
I had a badlands 2200, switched to a Kuiu and could not believe the difference it made. You will not be disappointed in spending more on a better pack no matter what brand.
I just did a trailer this summer. I went with a Aluma brand all aluminum dual axle, 16' x 7'. Rear ramp door and a side door. I installed a roof vent and a small window in the side. I put in a 20,000 BTU 12 volt LP heater on the floor, put a 1" pipe thru the side and use a couple 30 lb lp tanks...
Not sure where you live but if not from the mountains Idaho will seriously kick your behind. If you have never elk hunted before you do not realize how much work (fun) it can be. I would suggest for you first time out find a spot to camp and hunt from right close by. Learn from this trip what...
Yoda, a question for you (or anybody that can answer) I have 2 Leupold scopes( VHS 5) that are MOA adjustable. I looked at the link you sent and have a question. I plugged in my data and looked at the chart. It gives MOA adjustments in a column, I am assuming that an adjustment that says+ 1.60...
coleman extreme coolers for me. This year I put frozen 1/2 gallon milk jugs and regular ice in 2 70 quart coolers. I put the regular ice in 2 gallon zip lock bags. I then had some left over pink board insulation. I put. chunk in the front of the truck then the two 70 quart coolers side by side...
I like my K2o's but they seem not to grip the icy roads very well. They are on a F150 crew cab with topper on and at around 40 PSI in the winter the truck seems to slide around and break loose. The wear is assume but I will probably be searching for a different brand when they are shot
I agree with Dakota79 on this one. And I have never met him or even hunted the area. You could be unknowingly hurting someone else business and the guy you are talking about needs to be known to all so we don't waste our money with jerks like that.
