    We were in a truck (Uhaul actually) and just tent camped in random spots along the way. Some gravel pits, other spots were just side roads, etc. We only ever saw a cow and calf, lots of bears. The signs just outside of Wiseman were a little confusing, because obviously you can drive into town, but if you are a non-res hunting "their moose" you have to park near the highway and walk up the road.

    We heard a bull, I think, just across the highway from Wiseman where we parked in a gravel pit and hiked upstream a half mile or so. We ran out of light and had to start driving back to Fairbanks the next day. Some neat ruins from miners in there too.
