    I drew a type 1 elk for unit 38 this season in WY. Not greatly familiar with that unit but I’m researching it so any info you’d like to give me would be appreciated!

    Going to be tenting it pretty much on foot. Have been up there the last couple weeks and have located alot of bulls, but it's summer pattern now. Did you hunt archery season or rifle? I have a rifle tag and there's plenty of roads in that unit so I expect pressure for sure. Looking for any insight on how your hunt went down and any hints you can give me. Appreciate your thoughts on the unit!

    I archery hunted this unit and only saw one other hunter on day one of the hunt. We stayed at bear lodge resort off HWY 14A and it was a great spot for basecamp. All of our spots were easy enough to drive to in the morning and hunt all day. We found majority of our elk in 8000-9000 feet and they were tucked back into valleys with water and meadows.

    Thanks! Been up past Bear Lodge the last two weekends and have found alot of elk. Sounds like you had a great hunt up there!
