    And as far as comms go, don’t sweat that. I suspect you might start out at non towered field anyways while doing your Private ticket. You’ll be using the radio more often if/when you get an instrument rating.

    OP, Take an intro lesson or two and go from there. I’ve been plagued by the flying bug since childhood. Make sure to report back on your progress! Start off in a C172, NOT a C150 or C152. You’ll be able to log more takeoffs and landings in a more comfortable airplane per hour of flight time...

    Is it possible to solely purchase bonus points after July 1st without having purchased a license? My understanding (or rather intention) is that I don’t want preference points until I’m ready to actually hunt in MT. So my goal is to just bank points.

    Bingo here. I’m done w PA after this. The attraction as a NR was the low cost of entry which justified the abysmally low draw odds. It DID pass basic cost benefit analysis. I won’t buy an out of state license yearly to pursue these low draw odds. To the Keystone State…… NO DEAL. I’m out.

    From what I got from that video was ID is going to the NM model for big game draws for deer and elk. Doesn’t that accomplish the same objectives all while ending the website crash debacles?

    Could someone clarify this for me? So…in the “bonus” draw, no points will be deducted because it is a random draw and all hunters have an equal chance of getting a tag? And the bonus draw is after preference point draw tags are awarded? So hunters could apply in both pools?

    55k psi as is…. With this alloy steel and new powder wouldn’t it be higher rated? Maybe say….65k psi? Or does the geometry of a straight wall limit that? Just a thought.
