I could not get very satisfactory results from my 357 with bird shot so I purchased a Taurus Judge 45/410. No.6 shot at 15 feet will ruin a snakes day for sure.

Only have hunted first season in California Park . Lotsof elk and just as many elkhunters. Every elk I saw was running with there tounge out. If I ever went back it would be archery or muzzleloader..
I do not like to play the points game at my age. I look at leftovers and always have had a good hunt with some research and help from fellow hunters.Hunted unit 8 on a leftover and saw antelope everyday but not in large numbers.
Going to a large pawn Shop tomorrow ,mostly just to look. Have heard horror stories about PAWN SHOP purchases.I am not looking for anything just looking.
I would think it is the ammo and not the rifle.I only shoot CCI or Federal premium ,never had a problem and have shot thousands thru our Marlins. But I do clean them often.
I have a Mossberg three shot bolt action 410 that has a slight bulge in the barrel 17 inchs from the chamber.Has any one ever had a bulge in the barrel repaired ?Thinking of try to do it myself . Any sugjestions ?
