After watching some of the meeting, I’m convinced a group of retarded monkeys is more capable of making informed decisions than our commission currently.
Here is a link to a memo summarizing the recommendations from the draw process working group.

I may be misinterpreting the summary, but it seems to me the DPWG is recommending all deer, elk...
Muzzy and archery seasons stayed the same. Rifle seasons west of I-25 will now be: 1st rifle will start 3 days earlier on a Wednesday and end on Sunday, followed by a 5 day break, then 9 day second rifle season, then 5 day break, then a 9 day third season then, 2 day break then 5 day forth...
Limited means there will be a set number of NR archery tags for units that are currently OTC for NRs. It doesn't mean there will be vastly fewer NRs hunting those units. If CPW actually does what they said they would (MIGHT) do in there initial preferred alternative, which was to address...
The recommendation to go OIL if you shoot a ram or goat specifically excludes auction and raffle tags, so there is still a carrot for folks that only GAF if they have a chance to shoot another one.
I agree that going OIL for draw tags won’t increase the odds much, but the other recommendation...
I’m not opposed to this change but I don’t think it will really have much effect on point creep. Particularly on the NR side, the system is so overloaded with applicants that only a drastic change is going to do anything to reduce point creep. Point systems cause point creep.
Capping NR tags...
Going limited for elk doesn’t eliminate the possibility of getting a point and a list A tag in the same year. Most years I do this with deer. Two separate issues.
I understand that. The act also specifies increasing big game population and increasing access to private land, neither of which seem to be going very well. Anyhow, my point was simply that there is no financial justification to suggest that reducing NR elk tag sales would require a commensurate...
This is just not true @elkduds. Since the future generations act, CPW has had annual budget surplus in excess of $10,000,000 per year. Two years ago the surplus was nearly $30,000,000 which means they could reduce NR elk tags by 50% or 35,000 tags and still be operating in the black. Last year...
