Yep. If you trim their tail they have a little less power but what I ended up doing was just let them swim to the bottom and then they would be content. I’ve heard of people using down rigger clips as well.

I was just throwing words out there but I guess a giant in my mind would be 45”, a mark that I’ve never hit. I think any pike over 36” is big. They start to get the big pike look at that point. It’s not always easy to get big fish through the hole, as one guy figured out the other day...
Hey at least you are in the top 300 unlike myself. I predicted a lot of madness in the East that did not happen. Akron, Liberty, and VCU all let me down. I guess the selection committee knows better than I do.
I’m in for both even though my bracket is a long shot. I just can’t force myself to pull for Duke and Florida. My donation will go to NWTF. Turkey hunting has become my favorite hunts of the year since I started 4 years ago.
Enjoy your once in a lifetime tag. Hopefully you get a once in a lifetime bull. Have peace about the situation knowing this might be the last time you are the trigger guy on an elk hunt. It is interesting how being the person who actually shoots suddenly isn’t important anymore.
