Whatever the method, it is best to discuss well before-hand, not once an animal is in view. I've gone with whoever spots gets to pass/shoot for rifle, alternate setups/days with archery elk calling, etc. Having something figured out well in advance minimizes lost opportunity and hard feelings.
That's awesome!
I have no doubt that funds raised from most raffles (and auctions) do go to good projects - and what a great example you provide here. However, my issue is that western State fish and wildlife agencies have a lot of resources and a lot of ways to generate revenue...
No, I do not believe for a second the funds raised move the needle one bit AND I also believe if the revenue were actually critical, there are many more ways to get it than pimping wildlife, AND I think the average beneficiary loses more than they 'receive' when it comes to raffle (or auction)...
I enjoyed the video - even though it's one of the only times I can recall not quite seeing eye-to-eye with your take on a public land/wildlife policy issue. It is an interesting, thought-provoking topic.
I still see a major difference in private v. public trustees as the much more...
I think this episode is a little too biased via the lens of a CPA with common private trust asset management/fiduciary standards while somewhat ignoring our political system and differences between public and private assets/trusts/beneficiaries.
The checks and balances on political appointees...
Is it clear what the 2nd/3rd/4th rifle deer seasons for 2025-2029 BGSS will be or is there still uncertainty? I saw an appendix from/for the April 5 meeting that listed the staff recommendation (reverting back to old season structure) and a 'commissioner' proposal that more closely resembled the...

Sounds like not much progress. I do hope the State and Tribes can work cooperatively on harvest and wildlife management. Wyoming officials would do themselves a favor if they recognized the scope...
Agree. I have a hard time supporting companies that graft on to influencers who turn out to have a history of multiple wildlife related offenses. Mtn Tough could have 10 Randy's...but 1 poacher...and if they knowingly support the poacher, I won't be buying any of their products. Unfortunate...
What BS from NightForce. Really disappointed in them. Can't believe any company with a *previously* solid reputation would even consider associating with someone like this...somebody is asleep at the switch.
I generally agree, but I will say I bought some decent amateur camera equipment a couple years ago and started filming hunts and doing a little editing in the off season and I really enjoy being able to look back on them. I DO NOT post these hunts publicly on any social media - as I have zero...
Very well said. I've seen other attempts to close/vacate rights of way on public roads under the guise of 'bad actors ruining it for everyone' because there had been problems with littering or other inconveniences. I've long felt its a weak excuse at best - interestingly - I only see it applied...
I have no goals re: animal size, species, numbers. My emphasis is on spending quality time in quality places with quality people.
I am trying to maximize hunts in particular with my 2 boys (3 and 5) and my dad (71). The neat thing...keeping a 5 year old and a 70 year old happy on a hunt has...
To be clear - my proposal is we restrict/regulate anyone seeking to generate revenue (don't care whether they profit or not). Non-commercial content (i.e., family videos...even if posted to youtube) - fine to apply in the 'non-commercial' draw.
