I see your point. I certainly don't buy $20 socks. But can you see mine. The stagnation or more likely a decline in the American middle class. Kids today do not have an expectation of doing better than their parents. I don't think it is a lie to suggest that whole swaths of the American public...- Handlebar

Like the Roman empire, we resort to extraction. Or, in our case, "buying cheap shit." It helps balance the books and keeps the population happy. Citizens are quite happy with affordable Walmart goods... that we outsourced making abroad. But is has been a two-edged sword- Handlebar

I have a hard time believing that the average Republican voter in most non-Western states has any idea about returning public lands. Platform or not.
