    Scope looks canted

Not so sure the retical rotates inside. I used to have that happen now and then and cleared it up by not tightening either ring before snugging up the other. I'm thinking the rings with screws on one side were the problem. Tighten down to much to start one and it goes roll the scope enough to...

    Inedible

That looks like it might be an older buck. Seem's I've always heard the older they get the tuffer they get. so you looking for a big buck or a tender buck? I never had a tuff deer but then have never hunted antlers either! Just happened to think. Used to drive trucks for a living and now and...

    Scope looks canted

Thing I find amazing about a lot of things, most of us have done certain things the same way for years and all of a sudden have a problem with it!

    Winter photos

I was station several years at Adair air force Station south of Monmouth, ore. We had a guy there from Hawaii that had never seen snow in his life and his supervisor gave him a day off to go watch the snow! I thought it was pretty cool!

    Purpose built practice rifle

I read an article about why Jim Carmichael championed the 260 Rem. It was to cut down on fatigue for long range target shooter's. I suspect the 6.5 Creedmoor would do the same and probably the 6.5x55 would also do the same.

    trick my rifle...

I have a Paul Jager 30-06 he built in 1945. Never cared for the 30-06 much but this Paul Jager is a totally different dog! If I had what you have I'd have it barreled to a 6.5x06 with either a Shilen of Lilja barrel. Mine I did with a Shilen barrel maybe 15 years ago and have never regrated it...

New rifle, barrel, or cut and thread existing

I don't know squat about suppressor's but if the thing recoils to much I'd say get a new rifle! Suppressors do two thing's for sure. First they have to change the balance of the rifle hanging the weight on the end of the barrel. Then, IMO, they take what might be a good looking rifle and turn it...

    Bullet Failure?

Can't see well enough but looks to me like the tip did not open at all. Winchester put's plastic tips in and they claim it's to ensure the bullet opens. Years ago I shot some Sierra HP bullet's into newspaper at 100yds and in every bullet the tip closed shut and bullet bent. No expansion at all.

    Hopeful Elk hunter

Figure out the cost for a special hunt and what it's gonna cost without a guide. If you can afford it, probably adding a guide is not that much more.

    Hopeful Elk hunter

Tell ya what. Were it me, much as your gonna spend on that trip, I'd definitely get a guide. Kinda like your gonna go to Africa to hunt one special animal and don't think you can afford a new rifle you 'd rather have for it. Never know, could be the first and last hunt like that. Get a guide...

    Granddaddy's Gun

Well I have two grandchildren and neither of them hunt! Also have a mod 70 feather weight I bought years ago hoping my granddaughter would hunt some day. doesn't look like it's gonna happen; 6.5x55. Grandson doesn't show any interest either. Have some guns very special to me, three AyA's 16ga...
