Fort Peck Buffalo Hunt
Some of the best meat there is! Just so everyone is clear, Fort Peck and Fort Peck Reservation are 2 different places. The small herd of buffalo at the actual town of Fort Peck are for viewing only, and is not on the reservation. Just didn't want confusion for folks reading this is all- CForest

Region 6&7 mulie doe tag reduction thread
I live in R6 and spent bunch of time in a R7 unit this year. Deer numbers are pathetic. Whitetail numbers are as bad or worse than mule deer, blows my mind how many whitetail doe tags can be bought. My 2024 limited entry Utah rifle elk hunt
Kudos to you for putting the work. Utah isn't what it used to be, spent a fair bit of time there myself the last 4 years. Filled bull tag in our group this last week, gotta go back and try to fill a cow tag in the southern part yet though. -

Help me pick a new Bino harness.
I ran the AGC for many years, well built and layout worked good for having a rangefinder. But when I went to RF binos I had no need for all the extra bulk. suppressor length on hunting rifle
I've got the ultra 7 that's used on a 20" 7saum. I wouldn't any more length personally for a gun that gets packed around a lot. It's essentially the same length overall as a standard 26" barrel. My 22-250 is 22" and that one doesn't bother me for what it is, never pack it very far, etc. My... -

Well with Christmas and birthday back to back (30th) it made the decision pretty easy to do both the bb gun and nerf guns now. He's got them both half wore out already I think lol- CForest

What was your first big game rifle, and do you still have it?
Remington model 7 youth in 7mm-08 for me, got a lot of critters with that thing. Eventually grew out of it and it's just a safe queen now. Too much attachment to let it go ha, maybe the kids will use it if I don't get them something of their own first -

7mm08 140BT for elk?
I would use that combo with a ton of confidence. I have shot a cow with that and worked just fine. I ended up switching to the accubonds just cause, but there was nothing wrong with the BT at those speeds. I'd rather use it in a 7mm-08 than a 140 bt in a 28 nosler for example.- CForest

Anybody have a 5.7x28mm?
ha, it's a tikka roughtech. It's brand new never been fired which is why trading at lgs would be pretty easy. I am a big tikka fan which is why have been hesitant of what I want to do. A 6.5 just doesn't fit in my arsenal really, but I have built off a tikka before and not against doing it... -

Gonna revive this thread and see what the consensus is like nowadays!? Thinking of buying a pistol to keep in the pickup mainly. Don't carry rifles around like I used to with kids around, and a pistol i could hide in places much better plus take up much less space. Just looking to shoot... -

2024 dreams and plans
They've got my name written on a breaks sheep tag already, let's just hope they don't lose my address by spring! I've got enough points in a lot of places to be dangerous, but nothing really a given unless I lower my standards. Likely just going to be luck of the draw. Hope something hits but...- CForest

That is exactly why my wife made the argument that the bb gun should actually come first. Better to learn the safe way, than to learn the wrong way and try to revert back.- CForest
