I did not weigh or measure, and I don't like to guess. I just took the pic, popped the hook out and sent him back. In this case he never even came in contact with human hands at all or completely left the water.
Great way to start my weekend off. I can't complain at all about this Utah rainbow. For size reference (for those that know) that is a 6wt fly rod and reel.
A friend of mine surprised me when he sent me this picture of me, that he secretly took while I was preoccupied landing a very nice rainbow trout. Maybe no one else will care, but I thought it turned out pretty cool.
Sorry, but I no longer live in Montana so I don't know how the bear population is in the Highwoods this year. However an educated guess says it's about the same as it's always been. It really doesn't change much there.

I would love to tell you that it was on purpose not showing the back half, but the truth is that it is very hard to photograph fish when you are solo. It's just the best I could do as it was too big to try and hold completely up with one hand and take a pic with the other. :)
