    Do have a questions for you...have you hunted New Mexico GMU 52...I drew first rifle?

    I have hunted 52 before in the late season. Its a good area population wise. You wont need to hike far off a road to find elk. Finding decent bulls is a challenge. But get in some dense stuff and away from roads and you'll see elk.

    Congrats on the elk draw in 34! I have not hunted there...traveled there a lot, because my mother lives in Capitan. In my opinion they don't get the big snows...seems to be dryer every year in that area. I used to ski in Ruidoso a lot growing up...but they just don't have the conditions (snow pack) for skiing or driving the bulls down into the winter grazing areas.
