  • Hello, I came upon your thread for 3b. I drew a 3b tag. Wondering if you had any insight you were willing to share. Looks like full moon falls right at the beginning of the hunt. Is it best to wait till the later portion of the hunt if I can’t commit to the 24 day season? As far as areas I was thinking of starting on eastern half on some glassing points around the border of 1. Thank you in advance

Not elk.....I have a deer/bear/turkey lion tag here......I'll be scouting for deer (as usual) the entire summer. Not sure on NM elk yet.

Couple more next to my property line. They'll all finish out decent sized. The biggest never came by my house camera. He's already a 330' bull that should finish near 350"DSC_0414.JPG

Hey Bohntr! From what I have read around different forums you are the D11 master! I am new to hunting (rifle) and been trying my crack at D11 the last 3 years.

Had some other opportunities too but couldn’t get it done.

Picked up a compound for this next season! Thanks for all your tips!

Did you have a good season?

That’s awesome…..especially when you’re after a big one. Pretty uneventful bow season for me. I passed a few bucks I probably should have shot….including a 34” wide forked horn with eye guards. Had him at 33 yards and was looking for a bigger one that was with him. Oh well. My son arrowed his first P&Y Coues deer up where I’m at. Thanks for the recap!

Got my compound and got a solid plan to get good with it out to 50 yards!
