So this may not seem like a big deal to some… WY is now offering a Teacher “Endorsement” for hunter education. This will allow teachers to be paid and use part of the regular school day to teach a hunters education course.
This will increase access for the youth, and increase the number of...
My son and I hunted in SE MT in 2019 and 2020. We did this under the mentor program and when he was 10 and 11 years old. We had 2 awesome hunts over the week of Thanksgiving. 1 mule deer buck and 3 decent white tail bucks harvested. I am thinking about going back as a fun alterantive hunt to WY...
Well my old light weight 3 season Eureka tent is on its last trips. It is time to replace it. I don’t need or want any high end $$$$ tents. But something affordable and that will work. I think my Eureka was like $130 and it lasted Almost 13 years of use….
So what is out there that is packable...
I am struggling to find good clear data and studies on this issue. I know it is generally accepted that male harvest is not a limiting factor on herds and on herd recovery as long as the male to female ratio is high enough for the females to be bred.
Does anyone have good studies on this topic...
Well we did not take enough pictures, but my son and I snuck into a high mountain lake and found some really great brook trout action. We packed our belly boats and waders and flipper in and spent the day up there. Caught over 30 fish, several over 16” and the biggest was 17.5… One even made it...
Well last Sunday after noon, I showed my wife and son how it was done. 5 nice big fat bows…
Well I have one week to Bragg and now it is my sons turn. He put on a clinic at the river tonight. Caught 6 to my 1…
Dang cool to watch him reel in big fat fish…
We even fished some jack wagons douche...
I have been waiting to hear the Game and Fish response on the water project proposed in Sputhern Carbon County east of Baggs. I am very familiar with this location and was in contact stressing the amount of migration that occurs in this valley, not to mention the amount of both deer having fawns...
This is a an issue that is getting more and more attention. I hope all look at the hunt and realize that we should end using our wildlife for political favor and leverage. That the tags should be returned to the general public.
I am always willing to answer more based on what I know…...
So we hit the local fishing hole and spent 2 night on the ice. A mixed bag with a couple trout, sauger, walleye and ling….
It was a fun 2 nights and I got too much sun today.
Still have 28” of ice and maybe a few trips left…
we already fought this and had massive public opposition to the exchange. Well they are bringing it back up for reconsideration.
Please help and provide your opposition.
It appears that some how, we all missed it or did not notice it…. But it appears that the Game and Fish will be developing rules for the use of artificial light for predators in WY.
This would be a good thing…
It has been a nasty year here in much of WY. This last storm did in a lot of animals… my commute I am seeing new dead animals everyday.
The group of pronghorn has been “stuck” on a south hillside between the highway and fence. They had 9 fawns just over a week ago and like 30 adult lopes. Now...
Wish I did a few more pics today. We hit the hard water for the first time today. It was damn cold, when we woke up it was -12. Drive out we reached -21. We stalled a bit and then eventually got on the ice at 11:00am and a temp of -4. We ran a handful of tip ups and a jigging pole each…
So just saw on the WY Game and Fish page they are taking comments on the lifting of the NR cap and forcing all NR to pick a region to hunt.
You can provide your comment here...
So my son and I are debating (he is 12)…
Around 15 years ago on a coyote stand in late Nov/Early December I caught a glimpse of this buck on the winter range… It was just a glimpse and enough to shift my mule deer hunting strategy for the rest of my life. The following hunting season I was...
The local high school art teacher has developed this program/contest for high school students locally. The idea is to get kids to tell and share stories in person in front of peers and to highlight their success or lack there of during hunting season. I have not been able to attend the contest...
So this last week we have been hitting the elk hunt hard for a cow. But in the process, we saw a lot
Of really good looking bucks. Extra tall and high to the cutters.
My question is this, will the buck gain much score as the horns under it grow?
Yesterday my daughter and I wrapped up her quest for a late season WY cow tag. The weather just did not cooperate. We had wind but no real snow. The elk that usually migrate into the area were still stuck up high, the few local herds of cows were already hunted hard and holed up in private. But...
So just curious? What are your top 3 or just your favorite concealed carry fire arm?
This is for everyday carry working in a professional/office sort of setting…
