I got the boot. Too many facts presented on subjects the bro hunters pretend to have the first clue about will get you banned.
Also if you hunt more than a week a year, are successful hunting, and don't wear the latest hunting costume they don't like that either.
Real insecure bunch over on...
I remember in about 1998 I shot my 50th deer in Montana, probably shot another 20 or so since then. My family has shot a bunch as well, guessing another 150-200 between them.
Only "ages" we've gotten were from the ones that went through the check station when it was open, and those ages are...
Don't think so, the results of mismanagement of grizzly bears at the State level would be a disaster and once relisted, they're never going to be off the list.
Wolves that have litters, and are short lived species, is not the same as long lived bears with low fecundity.
In other words, you...
As much as that guy is full of crap regarding the regulations, with the decision-making process in Montana regarding game wildlife management these days, it doesn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling turning over grizzly bear management to them. They have enough trouble trying to manage deer, elk...
If anything, it will force people to make decision on where they spend their vacation time. I know in Wyoming that's exactly what happens, people either choose to blow a week hunting deer, or they spend a week hunting elk, not many do both.
Even if they do hunt both, it's only a week for each...
IMO/E, the commissioners should just be handed a rubber stamp for the most part when they're sworn in.
They either do the bidding of the Department or the Governor's office.
I agree that one of the big problems is that many times commissioners do not understand the issues. It would be like me...
Depends on the state, but specific to Montana, the only thing that's better than when I started hunting is turkeys and elk on private land. Everything else is significantly worse.
Edit: wolf, maybe lion hunting as well.
Absolutely this^. As much as wildlife issues are about the wildlife, habitat, public lands, migration corridors, it's also about the massive benefits to ourselves. We lose wildlife, clean air, clean water, etc...doesn't take a genius to figure out who's next. We might be able to side step it for...
We have access to state lands in Wyoming free of charge. There are a few exceptions with cultivated state lands and we have restrictions on camp fires and camping.
I'm in favor of a modestly priced state lands use permit. It would help move recreation a rung up the ladder for state land...
Sure, just ask yourself if you're better off under GG. Which policies of his have improved your quality of life in Montana?
Lower state income taxes? Property taxes? More state lands? Slower urban sprawl? Better wildlife resources? Happier state employees?
I'm tired of hearing about what the...
